Hello SA peeps!



Just joined - Best $50 I’ve ever spent! :smiley:



Let me start by saying that the courses here are beyond top notch / real professor level stuff to me. I’ve been immersed in watching videos non-stop since joining over the weekend and I’ve picked up more here in 2-3 days than I have in years fiddling about by ear :smiley:



That said, I took a stab at applying what I’ve absorbed by producing an all new track:



SoundCloud - Hear the world’s sounds



What I am going for is a pretty standard, tight, progressive house sound (Deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia, etc…)



Re: the vocal - I have worked directly with this vocalist in the past and found this really nice vocal track while going through some old production files.



Tools used: Ableton 8, Sylenth1 (main stabs), Arturia Moog Mini (bass), Kick and snare resampled via Deadmau5, Multiband Dynamics plugin + Vintage Warmer on main output (as a limiter)



Would appreciate feedback on the sound quality /production as I know things can always sound better :cool:

Nice synths and Melody man very nice sounds…i really enjoyed the track but i dont feel as the synths were loud enough the kick seemed to dominate the track maybe eq the synth to give it a lil more high end and brighter…other than that the track is good really enjoyed it man :smiley: and welcome to the forum :smiley:

Thanks to all for the feedback, it’s been really helpful :wink:



Just made some more tweaks - better bass definition, vocals dropped a bit, lead synth brought up (with a little less distortion on the top end).



Also brought the gain down a little bit on the Vintage Warmer on the master output.

Pretty decent mate has all the right elements and your mix is sounding nice



I’d make the vocals a little more airy but thats just my opinion
