Hey. Rounded up a few £’s and I now looking to buy some decent Monitor Speakers for both DJ’ing and producing. My price range is £200’ish. If any of you guys can give me any recommendations that would be great!
I’m guessing you mean monitor, not Monitor, as Monitor is the name of a brand of hi-fi speaker…
awaits everyones KRK suggestions
Seriously this question needs to be added to a ‘production FAQs’ or something stickie thread. It appears every week lol.
I know you arn’t to know buddy, i’m just talking in general ![]()
Anyways yeah everyone always suggests the KRKs but personally i don’t have an opinion on them as i’ve never used them. They do seem to be highly rated by the masses here though.
oh ok.
thanks for that.

…and i use a pair of old M-Audio Studiophiles with an M-Audio SBX10 sub (can be bypassed while mixing). it all gets me where i need to go.i can’t say that i would recommend them for you or anyone else because it took me a while to LEARN how they sound related to my mix. any old monitor with nice low end will work for DJing. on production end it is important that you hear the frequency range as “flat” as you can without any exaggeration from the monitors you are using. most monitors still require that you LISTEN for a while and use them to learn IF and WHERE on the freqency spectrum they are exaggerating. i haven’t shopped for monitors in years so i couldn’t begin to offer you advice on what manufacturer has the best technology for the price these days. but those are some things to keep in mind if you are serious about music PRODUCTION. with that, Best of luck.
