Help with a rising creaky sound & lead sound

Hi - new user to Sonic, just joined yesterday, I am using ableton 8.1.1 and I have reason but dont use it much…

I would like to know how to make a creaky rising sound, an example here [url]- YouTube from Airbase - Escape kicking in a 1:30 there is a nice rising sound, I dont know how to do this in ableton using vangard or nexus or such like but would like to. I’ve used a mod wheel on my mk325c in reason to do this on a malstrum is the past.

Also the track has a very nice lead sound with reverb and delays going on, how can I achieve this?

Another suggestion for sonic is a tutorial on how to do vocal chops from aceppelas - I have seen some tutorial on this but it would be go to see how you would do it

Thanks in advance

go into the ‘training videos’ and go to ‘tech tips volume 1’ it has a section that shows you how to make sweeps and risers … they probably have a section in the trance vids that show this as well… and how to make a reverb washed lead that plucks and delays like the one you like in the airbase track.

got the sweeps and risers mate but not what I’m looking, it more of a rising bass sound done with a mod wheel or shifting fq’s up and back down or something… no idea how to do it with ableton.

Looked over all the vids now and cant seem to find one with my desired sound, I can do the delays and reverb but just cant get that sound… been at it for days about a week now!

could you post a youtube vid of the bass sound your looking for? would probably help so that people know what your after

here u go: [url]- YouTube kicking in a 1:30 for about 64 beats I think in relation to the base sound.

For the lead I can do figure out the reverb and delays but I just cant get the sound… Thanks for the help people!

someone said this might help on another forum “Try a slow LFO speed linked to the oscillator pitch maybe sum ring mod as well” but I have no idea how to do this on the lead with a slyenth, any help here?

if its the high end sound apply lfo or filter to the pitch, use some reverb, delay and maybe play with volume automation a bit

I’m getting close now but not there yet… god dam it! lol! I’m not sure if I’m applying the pitch and lfo the correct way but sounds better… I’m ok with reverb and delays. Any more tip on how to apply the pitch and LFO’s would help or if anyone knows if there is any vids with this??

i think all you need to do is turn on one of the lfo envelopes, small amount of gain and like the suggestion a slow lfo speed, then select the destination drop down and choose pitch A/B or both, then increase the destination knob slightly

Got that and almost there… but what about the ring mod?? I dont see anything for this on the slyenth. Thinking back to reason on the subtractor has a ring mod, is anyway I can replicate it or get the sound a ring mod would give??

Cheers

also there it no unison on the sylenth… might need another VST or maybe I should try rewiring the subtractor from reason… any more ideas… I get there at some point!

you can get the unison effect by detuning your oscillators(anyone correct me if im wrong)
