Hi peeps, ive connected too my mates djm800 with phonoleads and the sound was poor in comparison to the sound the cdjs were producing. The sound could be described as low and distorted. i tried a few internal effects in ableton but it did not boost
. ive bought some coaxial leads as my soundcard as spdif out, not tested them yet.
Anyone had similar trouble?and how did you solve it?
. sometimes mine do the same . and i fix it by reset-it or Turning off and on the power of the interface
When you say low and distorted, how low?
Like ‘man thats crazy low’ or ‘hmmm thats a bit lower than it should be’?
Not got the input set to Phono on the mixer or anything silly like that (can happen) and Ableton is set to the have the master come out of the same channel on the sound card/interface that is plugged in?
I say that, cos just the other day I wasted a good 30 mins wondering what was going on after I forgot I changed some things around!
Thanks guys, yeah ive done the old switch off and on trick, it didnt work. Ive a funny feeling my cables were insufficient in quality. im gonna try the spdif coax route today. all the cables were routed correctly.
The sound, bang the dj, was low, the difference between the cdj sound and my soundcards output was like night and day. the cdj was crisp, clean balanced and my soundcard was giving out a crunchy low sound and adjusting the gain knob up on the djm made it worse, distorting like i had the gain maxed out but it was barely halfway up.
Thankfully i wasnt playing out, i was testing my new setup at my mates house!!
thanks guys, got it sorted.just got some new digi cables and it worked fine.
