Heyaz, cool tune… I’ve really been enjoying music with high production values, like this one, lately.
That’s something you just can’t creatively emulate.
Anyway, as for the bass, my best guess would be definitely a sine wave for sub and I think I’m detecting a hint of square, not a whole lot. But then again, this is pushed wayyy down there with a low pass filter, so its hard to identify with so much of the top chopped off.
I would experiment with the combination mentioned above, then apply liberal amounts of sidechain compression and it sounds like there is a subtle sidechain envelop on the low pass(quicker attack than release), giving it a little bit of a morphing sound as the compression releases. This is almost necessary to make the bass pump audible, when it is this low. The morph might be distortion/saturation from this particular compressor as well, but I can’t comfirm that, having never worked with any compressors other than abletons.
