Help with making my track jump out of the speakers!

Hey,

Im hoping there’s an expert (or anyone!) that can help me with some tips to getting a clean sounding mastered track. Ive just finished this remix of a martin solveig track, and while im happy with the loudness of each element in the mix, when played all together (after the drop) it doesn’t jump out the speakers like it does when playing them individually, and sounds a bit flat. im pretty clued up when it comes to compression/limiting and ive tried eq’ing so everything has its own place in the mix but it doesnt have the professional sound the big tracks have, and im pretty sure its down to the mastering. Any help would be massively appreciated, link below…

Thanks!

i don’t think its anything to do with your mastering

it will more than likely be something to do with the contrast between your break and your drop.

if theres too much bass in your break and you drop with the same amount of bass - then you’ll not really notice it.

if you break builds to a peak which is high up the frequency spectrum with lots of highs and white noise, then you will notice a massive change when it drops to kicks and bass.

if thats the track you are referring to in your soundcloud link

try kicking straight into your drums - rather than fading your white noise back it.

maybe try a little side chain on your higher sounds when the kick comes back in

The mastering video in the Main Room House tutorial has helped me alot with my final mixes…

thanks guys

Did you cut all the needless low ends of the higher sounds & vocals? That would give some room for the kick.
And like someone already said, the noise in the drop seems to be killing the "punch". Make sure that at the time of the drop the stabby sounds are overrepresented in the mix..
