hi forum, i’m new to this service and just thought i’d introduce myself. i’m a 22 yr old guy from romania. found out about this service while google-ing for trance tutorials. found some great tuts here. am new to the music-making industry so i’d appreciate some tips. also would like to ask for some suggestions on a solid software i can use to make progressive trance music and some hardware i may need. atm i’m using fl studio and i own an axiom 61. ty for reading and looking forward to make some friends
Hey mate,
Welcome to the forums.
I don’t think there are any FL tut’s on this site, although there are numerous on youtube, or from what people have said on here.
This site focuses mainly on the DAW’s - Ableton, Logic Pro and Cubase.
If it’s any help, I used to use FL too then switched to Ableton and found the work flow a lot better.
Cheers
Welcome to the forums!
I must admit when I first started reading that it started to sound a bit like a dating ad.
“Hi, 22yr old male, GSOH looking for lucious blonde with blue eyes for romantic dates, walkes across the park and lots of sexy time”
ty for the warm welcome guys i looked at some cubase and ableton videos on youtube and i must say they’re pretty amazing. they surpass FL in every way and seems like the possibilities are endless. think i’ll go ableton though cause it’s more kede-friendly and i already have a copy of it:w00t: came with my axiom but i never tried it before. and… are there any lucios blondes with blue eyes around? :Whistling: lmao
Careful, Rob hit’s on all the newbies… he’ll turn up at your house soon with a bunch of flowers!
Welcome to the boards fella.
roflmfao :hehe:
Ce faci!
I know the spelling is off on that one. My mom is from Transylvania. But she left when Ceauşescu was still ruling.
But welcome to the forums.
Ableton and Logic is what I use. If you are on a Mac, you should really look into Logic Pro.
spelling is accurate so you’re half romanian
well… i just switched to ableton. can’t afford a mac just yet i even gotta wait till next month to pay my subscription on this service :hehe: but i heard logic is what all the top producers use… but anyway i’m still learning… and there’s no hurry

Not all.
Some.
But
‘some’ also use Cubase
‘some’ also use Reason
'some also use fruityloops
You get the idea.
Welcome
Everyone has diffrent ways of working and choice off DAWs - even some top producers use FL so demo Ableton, Reason and Cubase and see which one you feel most creative with - I prefered Ableton as it suited my style

Here’s whats up dude. Don’t listen to what ANYONE here says… Including myself. You need to pick whats right for you. Personally, I HATE Reason. Others love it. You know what I use. The bottom line is that with the advancement of technology, you can make amazing music with just about anything nowadays. You need to try out a few different programs and see what you prefer. In the end, you have to use what you have the most fun making music with. Dance hits have been made with all the programs across the board, so its not like none of them are capable of doing it.
welcome to the forum

I knew a girl from there… She & he husband actually looked like vampires. She had a black coat that had edging on it like bat wings - true.
So funny… They were completey normal of course… just victims of eastern bloc fashion
yeah i know… only started using fl cause i heard basshunter got famous with it :hehe: well hope i can make some decent tracks soon with ableton can’t get all the daw’s out there cause they cost lots of $$ and personally i don’t like using hacked software. i know there’s plenty out there to choose from but i like to be legit. i even found some wared videos from sonicacademy wich is kinda sad… and i must admit i downloaded some to check them out. but i will get a subscription as soon as i can afford. i like to be legit
Listen dude. Seriously check out Ableton. Its argueably the most FLEXIBLE DAW out there. There is also a 14 day trial that is totally unlocked so you know exactly what you are getting. This way you can try it out. I would start with Ableton and a TON of the videos are all using Ableton. Ableton has been voted the most popular DAW on the planet too.
Welcome to SA dude . this site got lots of info so dont waste your time posting **** and watch the videos
hheheheh
just Kidding
I totally agree with Howie. I personally started using Reason because that’s all I really knew was out there… when I moved to Ableton Live I wondered why I spent so long using Reason! Live is very, very good.
I’ll be trapsing down the Logic route eventually too though… I just cant seem to get the sound I want from Ableton.
I started using Logic and I was doing all my sound design in it. However, from here on out, I am gonna use the session view to make my loops in Live and then send the bounced audio over to Logic. I’ll do this for most things. For some of them though, I will have to save the patch and the midi and send it over so that i can automate things on the synth im using.
