Hi,
I must post this track I made a coulpe of days ago. I am new to this forum, but I have been to another norwegian forum for a while. After I was finished I decided to dedicate it to a highway in my district. Have a listen! Would be nice to get some feedbak on it too.

Nice track. I really liked it…
Thanks =)
Really liking the sound, its a nice track for sure. Has an aggressive and epic sort of vibe to it.
HOWEVER, that being said I think the processing of the sounds are very weak, just feels like it needs that polish added in to really make it shine.

Thanks for giving me good and a little bad critics. If I could get some help on making better sound i would Enjoy it. Even just a tip…
Don`t know about you but I use Ableton and I used some Ozone on the drums and the synths. Maybe what I need is to get the volume higher and use more compression. What excactly do you mean? Got any good examples on how I can “make it shine”?
These are all from a what I would do personally perspective:
-The snare: More snappy with a possibly stronger transient (find its peaking pitch with a spectrum analyzer and boost it with EQ slightly, it should be pretty low between 150’ish-500’ish), more reverb on it maybe to compensate. Maybe also duck it slightly in the mid-higher area like 750hz or something very slightly.
Just to give you an idea of what type of snare I think would suit this track ever so slightly more listen to an also epic track by deadmau5; Right This Second. Personally I think its the god of proghouse tracks but thats just a personal thing lol.
-This one you may hate as a suggestion but I absolutely hated the weird bleepy sound you have coming in once or twice and would personally replace it with something else entirely. It comes in at first after the first crash at the 20 second mark or something like that. Again this is a personal one and people will people disagree with me.
-I think with the way the bass is kicking in and out with a tail and what not the kick will be a hard one to perfect in this track, but I like the bass as is and therefore would have no clue how to correct that lol.
You could try further sidechaining it with the kick just to give the kick more room to breathe, just solo the kick and the bass and keep increasing the amount of sidechaining until you can just hear pumping and then pull it back ever so slightly. A pumping bassline wouldnt work in this track IMO.
Also I think the kick needs slightly more sub/bass and weight in general. Could try NY Compression but I dont personally use it ever, it apparently adds a lot of weight if done right but I can never get it right personally. Maybe make the kick just slightly louder as well.
BTW my favourite feature has to be the weird percy synthy piece. Sounds a bit like a cowbell, absolutely love it. I know its a tiny feature but I like it a lot for some reason lol.
Hi, and interesting point you got when I compare the track made by deadmau5! He got a really clear and crispy sound and I think he has used plenty of comression possibly in all parts bacause of the snappy sound. The kick is also more filled with low frequencies. So Ill see what I can do about that. :)

It is not a snare in my track but it
s a clap. Maybe its the tail that makes it sound like a snare.

After watching the compession tutorials on sonicacademy am gonna look deeper into how it affects the dance music i make.

If I get somthing good done, I
ll post another thread. So thanks for the tips. Have a nice evening.
