Would love it if you guys had a dedicated Arrangement Course which went into detail about arrangements and automations for the popular genre … tech house, house, techno, funky, electro etc. I know you touch on arrangement on most of your “how to” tutorials, but I personally would benefit from an indepth Arrangement Course.
How do all you other beat freaks feel about that?
hey Gav. I remember in one of the tutorials, they did this. i dont remember which one. But what you need to do is drag one of your favorite songs in and basically emulate what they do. Listen on 8 bar loops over and over and move 4 bars and listen, then move 4 bars and listen. By doing this, you will hear what is happening at the transitions. You can then do that. There really is no right or wrong in arrangement, you just have to convey the energy correctly.
The question is, have you watched all of the videos?
The tech trance tut has a good arrangement video as do many of the others. Check it out.

This is what I have done and now I have a few templates to work with
Cheers guys. Will definitely give the template trick a try to make sure I’m peaking and troughing at the right times!
I need to get out of my arrangement fear! :w00t: Getting a slamming collection of beats and basslines in the Ableton session view is definitely my favourite bit!
