twice now i have lost all the files to tracks that i have made in ableton after using the collect all & save function. i’ve gone to re open a project today and all the files are missing scanned my drive to replace and even looked manually and they are all gone.
anyone else had this problem.
i’ve not moved or adjusted any folder systems.
I have no clue…
this happened to me on a few tracks where i moved the folder.
it seems that sometimes when you collect and save if you dont select a specific folder to save to first it will save in your live sets folder or whatever folder all your sets are in overwriting previous sets.

thats quite interesting. i haven’t moved any folders and even loops that i had bounced down to audio have completely vanished off my hard drive.
i’ll try and remember that in the future thanks phil
yes that happened to me. I sent ableton the cfg files but they couldn’t recover data. I lost 20+ hours of work. The thing that upset me the most is I only began to have problems once I purchased a legitimate copy. Over all I love it and this doesn’t happen often. If it does I’m going back to cubase;)
yeah its only happened twice so im cool. if it happens when im making millions then i’ll be pissed lol
+1 to what phil said, (of course). I had the same issue. Its all about making sure you have a new folder for each project, this is so key. besides itll just make your life easier when your trying to zip up a live pack/manage files/ etc, etc
all of my tracks have separate folder bro i wouldn’t work any other way
