Very techy here but anyone know how this can be done:
Play a set which be coming out from a DJM looped into my laptop or desk top to record it, now, is there any software I can use to stream this to my webpage???
Back in the day it was all about shout cast. Not sure if that’s still the case now, but a quick google should let you know.
Traktor has settings for this too I believe, or something similar at least.
It’s not the streaming part that’s the issue. It’s having a server to stream it to that people can log into. If you’re hosting your own website, then yes, this is possible with just some simple software like Shoutcast. If you’re paying to host though, it’s still possible, but keep in mind that you’ll be killing your bandwidth usage for the month uploading (streaming to it) and downloading (the ppl logged into to listen to it live). Now, if you’re talking about streaming it for the sake of “recording it”. Then I would just find some other medium to record onto, like a CD, then upload the disk to your site. Hope this helps!

found something called broadwave that looks like it will do to my webpage but having issues setting up port forwarding
Not sure if this is what you need but back in the day when i was involved with an i-net radio station i was hosting a live radio show using http://www.drs2006.com/
worked great for us
I wouldn’t have though bandwith was too much of a concern these days with most hosting plans, if it is then either you have gash hosting, or a massive audience, in which case you can upgrade!
Bandwidth isn’t a problem here in the states, but I know some countries crush the living shiza outta the interwebz… Making it a pain to do anything streaming
You should check out http://mixlr.com/. I have an account with them and have streamed live mixes through them before.
Does what it says on the tin

Looks interesting. I like how you can manually configure your exact requorements (with pretty sliders and everything)!
I also like how you went to the effort of making the link bold but not clickable
my bandwith is unlimited! looks like I’ve got it working… now I need to intergrate it my webpage

LOL! Never thought about that when I did it dude, sorry!
It’s a really good platform thou and works really well.
I have only used it a few times near the beginning of the year but like others, I’m looking to insert this into my site sometime soon.

Thats what we like to hear!
I joined the site ages ago, when they first launched it. Was funny, there was hardly anyone on there but they have come a long way recently and have done really well.
well its taken all night, learning about router configuration, lan, wan, port forwarding etc etc etc
but I can now stream anything from the line in on my pc directly to itunes, media player, phones, flash on my web page - you name it!
look for some software called boardwave, its free, takes a little work to get up but I can tell you how!
you can also intergrate it into facebook etc etc which I shall do tomorrow, so I’ll be recording my podcast and streaming it live at the same time
lets hope ableton dosent **** up this time
PS you dont even need a web page for this to work, you can send direct links to people which will connect to your stream
