How did they get this bass sound so WIDE? (Dubstep/Bass)

Enjoying being signed up to the site and learning loads. Things are really coming together for me

I was wondering how they got this bass sound. Really what I’m wondering in particular is how they got it so wide sounding because it’s almost got a kind of surround feel to it.

The track is Paradise Circus (Zeds Dead Remix) - Massive Attack. It drops at 1.10

Cool! Thanks!!

Just sounds to me like the duplicated the track and panned them to opposite sides. That, or they ran the sound through a simple delay set to very short delays with no feedback.

For example, Left delay set to 12 ms, Right set to 8ms, no feedback, and 100% wet. Typical setting to spread a hat or shaker sound to the outer areas of the spectrum.

I tend to keep one channel to 0ms if you are wanting to spread… its only really the difference between the 2 channels giving you the effect so if left is 12ms and right is 8ms thats only a 4ms difference… exactly the same as 4ms left 0ms right just without the 8ms overall delay.
