Please take a listen to the above, half way through there is a bit of a fluttery effect before the breakdown.
How do I get this effect? It’s awesome.
Any help / advice MUCH appreciated!!

Roben,
It sounds like a 2/2 filter delay on a drum roll. Might have an actual low pass filter on it too to give it that build, flutter, fallout effect. To make the flutter sound like its sweeping by. Maybe even some panning. I would definitely play around with drum rolls and delay though. You can do something similar but more glitchy with a plugin simply called “glitch”. I think its by “Blue”. I’m not for sure on that but I know that you can google it. Its free to boot! This plugin will let you do the flutter effect as well as stutter vocals, drums, effects, and whatnot. If your a mac user like me, then there’s a mac equivalent, but not version… Google for that as well. I digress. As far as your sample though, it sounds like a delayed drum roll. Hope this helps!

I’ve got Glitch, infact i’ve used it in this new track im working on, its a wicked plug in. Although I don’t think it’s right for that effect, as it’s not so glitchy.
I’ll try out your first recommendation, however if anyone else has some thoughts then i’d still like to hear them!
Cheers
Actually re-listening i don’t think the effect is put on the drum as it still goes whilst the flutter is on top. Ahhh i may have to email the producer lol.
with just enough delay you wouldn’t compromise the integrity of the drums. allowing them to sound separate from the flutter. it could also be that the delay is triggered by the drum. and then the delay is delayed. and the pile up of delays makes that stutter effect. it’s definitely some sort of delay. please tell if you find out as now im super interested. sorry for the all lower case as i just realized i typed that way

there ^^^ one capitol letter
or a delayed gate! ok, i’m leaving this alone now til you find out
Raymond
hahaha
Maybe you could tell me how i do all that then!!
the delay to me sounds like a mix effect not from the record… it seems to be a simple 2/2 delay with a hipass filter
What is meant by a “2/2 delay” and how do I get it using my delay plug in?
Sorry if that sounds stupid
when you add a filter delay in ableton you: turn off the l+r (the middle one) and just leave on the l and the r. you click the #2 on both of those. set the filter to high pass. voila.

Cheers mate!
Just tried it now on the kick, sounds awesome.
Is there anywhere that I can find out more on little tricks and tit bits like that? Do you have any other little tricks you could teach me?
I sure do. I’m no Phil, but I’ll help when I can!
