Phil, can you give me some guidance on what is going on in the bass end of this track, to help me to achieve a similar type of sound?br
br
Is the producer using a deep sub bass do you think - and if so, what kind of midi pattern?br
br
Do you think there is a sine wav/triangle wave type sub - or a filtered sawtooth type of sub for the very bottom end of the bass - between about 40-100Hz for example?br
br
How many basses are playing, and what would you say are the likely types of sounds he has used, and what kind of midi patterns etc?br
br
I can’t hear the bass end of this track too well on my own studio set-up, and i can’t seem to really hear what bass(es) he has running to create this type of sound?br

Anyone got any ideas whatsoever?br
br
Anything?
Sounds like the sub is all in the kick and the bass riff is more 200hz up
So you think there are basically 2 layers that make up the bass - 1 sub layer, and then the arpeggiated bassline that plays over the top from about 200Hz upwards?br
br
Do you think the sub layer just hits on every beat then along with the kick - with a long release to make it play pretty much continuously, only being pumped in time with the kick by sidechaining?br
br
Do you think this would be the best way to go about creating a similar type of sound? br
br
Anything else you would add about trying to recreate this type of bass?
Im not sure there is another sub layer i just think it might be just a heavy kick
its really hard to tell from soundcloud… the quality is sooo crappy the bass is all mush
Sounds to me like there’s on top of it all a deep low sine that’s sidechained with the kick. On top of that there’s the higher bass as Phil said. And you got the heavy kick with it’s low end.
Thanks for your help guys./PPPhil, appreciate what you said about soundcloud!/PPI’ve ripped this track from a .mp3 set on Soundcloud - once it’s released i’ll buy a nice high-quality .wav version and have a better listen - should hear more then like you say!
