So I have a loop of chords, they sound great! I’ve used some inversions to make the progressions smoother and I’ve added some sevenths too. However… I now want to add a melody on top, to get that Avicii like harmony between his melody and chords that he acheieves so well. I have no idea where to start other than knowing that I can use the notes of the chords :/br

If you’re not musical or very good at writing melodies, my advice would be to go along to this sitebr

and download some midi files of your favourite tunes, then you can check out the structure and the timing, move the notes into your key, have a play around with the timing and make something of your own. Once you’ve done that a few times you’ll understand what works and what doesn’t, then you’ll be able to knock up your own no problem.
