I have extensive presets & custom tweaked and/or created sounds which i would like to re-organize as banks. I would like to save myself some steps and make my own instrument & fx banks.
I’ve done some digging around and found some threads on the topic in both the KVR(GUIDE: How to organize .FXB banks into .FXP individual files or your create your own .FXB banks - LennarDigital Forum - KVR Audio) and Steinberg(Convert .fxp to .fxb ? - #3 by system - Cubase - Steinberg Forums) forums. I found some PC programs to do this but nothing on Mac yet.
I’ve scanned through my Sylenth user manual and found anything. Doin all this while makin beats is messin up my workflow:ermm:…
Sylenth experts pls shed some light or point me in the right direction pls
Here’s is one way of doin it
You do it all with Sylenth just create a custom folder in user/Library/Preferences/LennarDigital/Sylenth1 than save any bank you want to it than you can delete and add presets from sylenth to your customized bank.
You can Later revisit your folder than rename your banks as you wish.
TO modify preset names hit • symbol on the far left of the preset name box(directly to the right of bank 4)
THis technique is very “Hacky” and still a huge pain in the ***. It’s better to build your custom banks slowly over time adding your favorite presets from your favorite banks as you are using them rather then creating custom preset folders and spending hours loading them 1 by 1.
these are the steps required
1-copy preset[while your “fav/target” preset is loaded from it’s original bank]
2-open bank(.fxb) [load your custom bank from your custom folder]
3-insert preset [this will load your preset and move the selected preset down a notch unless your using initbank in which case it overites init 1]
4-save bank(.fxb) [locate your custom .fxb bank and over rite it•take special care in this step as over riting a carefully crafted bank with a new one could cost you an enormous amount of time•]
*You must follow all these steps for every preset you add to your banks so it can be VERY TiME consuming if you decide to rebuild individual preset folders as banks.
If anyone knows of a MAC app which is capable of opening vst banks to drop in presets in batches please let us know!
