Sorry just realised i posted originally in wrong area…
Ive tried to get that big piano sound with EQ, compression, reverb, 2 reverbs chained together, high end distortion… but it always sounds muddy in the track, esp with alot of reverb on. If i eq out the mud then its too thin. Its probably just getting the right mix of the above but if someone could share some wisdom on the right chain it would really help!
eg: after 1:45 mins in this vid
David Guetta, Sebastian Ingrosso, Dirty South - How Soon Is Now (Original Mix) - YouTube
Any help appreciated!
Cheers,
Andy
It’s all about playing chords. Is the only way to achieve that type of fat piano sounds. If you have Nexus try some of the piano presets. Usually the tend to use Piano Dance2k preset.
think your about right with that nexus preset, cheers. would still be good to have a SA tutorial on how to make individual sounds jump out the speakers…
Its not the chords. Its the sustain pedal (first chord) on the piano. I actually have no idea how to reproduce that in a DAW maybe somebody else can explain that. But I am sure it will give you the result your looking for.
EDIT: I also think there’s a synth or electric piano layer under it.
