It's probably a workflow & tool set preference since both EQ are 4 bands parametric EQ, so they will sound the same in the end but the Studio EQ has got additional features like the "Inv" button that you can click on/off to really hear what you're cutting or boosting as well as an output level meter on the right that you don't get in the channel EQ, so it's more convenient to use IMO, that's the only reason I can think about here.
It would be something different to use another type of EQ like a dynamic EQ or a vintage gear modeled EQ emulation, that would affect & color the sound but any parametric EQs will give you very similar and even identical results with the same settings applied, so in the end it's just about having more options with this one than the standard channel EQ but it doesn't affect the sound.
