anddd it's working now on Imac haha
love the discussions here now. Just saw it for the first time. Great vids as always.
Hi there, thanks for this great tutorial.
One Question @steve:
Is there a benefit to use extra audio tracks for the groups (KICK, DRUMS...) instead of simply group it? if you group it, you don't have to change I/O sends for each track.
thx iche
Not working fine on chrome in win7. The videos plays a little and stop after a variable time with "this video is unavailable" message.

Hey iche,
I came to ask the same question. It might be by force of habit. Grouping is also practical to launch the clips directly from the group track. My only guess is that it takes up too much space in the arrangement view to have the grouped tracks. So, when he works with layered audio maybe the group track bothers him.

Yo dude,
I always have those extra audio tracks at the top of the project. It doesn't matter whether i'm rocking 20 channels or 70, at the mixdown phase all i will need to do is focus on 5-6 channels that are all right next to each other.
Its also a habit ;-)
Hey Steve and SA guys,
Thanks for putting this up. I'm happy you addressed the low "bed" during the bass section of this course. This type of sound has always caught my ear and was a sound which I would try to emulate in my own way. While I've seen others use the same technique in some way, the way you explained it was more clear and easy to understand. My question is what kind of sounds to you go for when creating a low bed? I couldn't really get a good feel as it seemed they were already filtered down with a LPF. Do you go for toms, synths, perc loops??? Does it really matter? What kind of sounds do you feel you've been more successful with when trying to get that low rumble? Thanks again!!!
Should all be resolved now guys ! iOS streams are too working again
@disqus_6crqb5fKjF:disqus how did you make the lowshizzle loop in the first place. Great tutorial!!
@steveward
How did you make the Lowshizzle loop?
I mean the original sample that you provided in the sample folder.
Loving this, but.... where's the pr0n?
Gawd, don't encourage him!
Nice tutorial, but clearly the key thing that everyone wants to know
is.....where did the 'Low Shizzle' sample come from / how was it made in
the first place? I think this is perhaps the one key thing that needed
to be covered out of the entire tutorial - but as yet it's not been
explained! Steve - can you tell us all where that sample came from? If
it's just from a sample CD or something that's cool....if that's the
case can you provide some guidance on where to obtain similar samples
that provide this nice low end bed for techno tracks?
Eventually a proper tutorial aiming to the underground sound, well done sonic academy for bringing Steve on board. On top of that Steve ward is clear and gets to the point, remaining us of basics techniques such as structure of the track, etc. Thanks Steve for sharing your experience and track, Looking forward for more tutorials representing the underground sound in deep house, tech house and techno, eg. - Claptone - No Eyes feat Jaw (Mickey Remix), MARTIN BUTTRICH - Smack Back , D-isorder - Get Down, Time for baby - Gary Beck.
Yo david (and others that asked about this)
I spend days doing sound experiments in which i make samples for myself for future tracks... As far as i can remember, this sound came from one of these sessions so i don't exactly know the exact file i used to make it, however it simply sounds like a reversed kick followed with a couple of small edits of the attack of the kick to make a rolling pattern.
This sample is heavily compressed also.
I'm sure you guys will be able to make something very similar by experimenting with different kick drums cut up in a sequence :-)
check the response above chief :-)
yo john check the first comment up the top, i answered david :-)
