Hey guys, I was wondering if somone could help me out with this one. There is this bangin' synth that alesso uses in this remix of "Heiress of Valentina" that I would love to be able to make/tweak. Heres the youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12ZqK9x9p2s The synth I'm talking about kicks in at 1:22. So first of all are those all chords? I know its a fairly layered bass/lead combo, but I cannot tell if those are chords or just a single note thats octaved a ton. Also, how could one make a synth similar to that? I know there's got to be some saw waves in there, and also a little bit of detuning. But yeah, any insight would be greatly appreciated! You scratch my back I'll scratch yours! Thanks again SA, you guys are win |
its a bass and top line…
bass sounds like a live bass sample really compressed
the top line is octave saws with bit of white noise. (maybe a bit higher of +7 saw pretty low) bit of distortion.
the chord effect comes from the 2 sounds playing different notes.
reminds me of a classical piece with a cello and violin… both parts moving creating interesting chords and harmonies
O okay, so basically he would have started out with a chord progression and then he seperated it into low end and lead and change the synths? I guess that makes sense! What do you mean by +7 with a little distortion? do you mean he has a octaved notes and then a very low volume 7th on top of that?
so if you you would have 4 OSCs
1 standard saw retirg off maybe 4 voices 25% detune
2 copy and paste the OSC but make it +7
3 copy and paste again +12 (1 octave)
4 touch of white noise
Thanks Phil!
Worked like a charm!
