There really is some needed tips for Trance genre, great!
Great intro.
I love Protoculture but omg this tutorial was painful to watch
Protoculture’s workflow is my dream workflow. Not just because it’s fast, it is certain and confident. I learned a lot. Thank you.
very good
Are there any tips how to create the same PolySynth using Native Instruments? I have ultimate pack, bud don’t understand which instrument could be most like in the video
Amazing! however since Im completely new here: do I just pause the screen and do my best to mimic protoculture here with what he has setup in tutorial 3 so I can follow along? how does this work? I downloaded all the stems and files, now what?
Hello there @Avinashi and welcome aboard !
It is actually a combination of both, the main goal with any course and especially the “How to make” series showing how to create a full track from start to finish is not to simply Copy/Paste settings and try to sound exactly the same as the tutor’s track, it’s more about understanding the techniques and creative process behind from the tutor’s and how the track was created in terms of sound choice, sound processing, arrangement, mixing…etc.
So there’s a “sit, watch & learn” learning process along the practicing part when it comes to try to replicate the producer’s process. Even if you do not use the same DAW or don’t own the same plugins or software used by the tutor, you can always recreate & use the same techniques with your own DAW and replace plugins with the tools you already own or free alternative.
While it’s of course more easy to follow along and replicate a course if you’re using the same DAW ( Bitwig in this case ) and if you have the same plugins, it’s super efficient to try to adapt the course inside your own DAW and use your own tools : again, don’t aim at sounding the exact same, getting close enough is sufficient, the important part is to learn and understand the all process and techniques shown by experienced producers.
We provide project files in the course’s download resources if you’re using Bitwig and you can check the list of plugins used on each course’s page if you check the “Software” section on the main course’s page ( this helps finding alternative plugins if you don’t own all plugins ).
If you’re using a different DAW, we provide audio stems or samples/presets that will help you to recreate the project or have enough resources to work in your own DAW.
Highly recommend to watch this course first Psychology of Learning with Bluffmunkey
Also keep in mind that as a subscriber, you have access to our entire courses catalogue online, so when a topic is not clear, it is likely that we have a course to delve further into this, whether it’s about techniques, arrangement, mixing or music theory. Use the search features on the main courses page to find courses by keywords or category.
Finally, each course has it’s own dedicated forum’s topic like this one where you can ask questions if something isn’t clear enough and we also have a Discord server with a dedicated courses channel.
Hope this helps further ![]()
