How to sidechain in logic during a break

Hi,

Hopefully someone can help me.

want to sidechain a string in a break (so without hearing the kick of course)

Can somebody please help me?

Thanks,

Regards,

Sven

Haven’t used Logic but that shouldn’t make a difference.

Set up a kick to play throughout your whole song. Use this as your sidechain kick.

Now mute the kicks channel so you can’t hear it but it still triggers throughout the whole track

in cubase you have to select the output to no output. i dont really think that muting the track will do it . logically i think that they need a signal to use as  a side chain . muting the track yo dont have a signal at all to sidechain. unless i might be wrong .

this is my opinion . see and try if that works  if not just ignore me hehehe

set up a kick on its own and switch the out put off, you can then copy and paste the kick the full length of the track with out it even being heard. when using it as signal you can drop your original kick in and out with out ever losing the effect of your sidechain.

made a quick video to show how to

many thnks for the video.

I use no audiotrack for a kick but a software instrument (the ultrabeat)

I tried to walk true your video but this doesn’t work when you work with a software instrument…

do you have any other ideas??

many thanks

yeah i’ll make another video for working with software instruments, give me a while though as i’ve not used logic in about 8 months lol

Smart arse! :stuck_out_tongue:

to side chain using a instrument in logic you’ll need to duplicate the plug-in and send one version to a bus

video sir
