Hello,br
br
how to sidechain using fabfilter-SC in ableton?br
i cant find how to route the kick to a diffrent channel to get the pumping effect using fabfilter.br
br
pls help
It’s a bit complicated, and not very practical in my opinion…br

Put Pro-C SC on whatever track you want to have pumping. Then go to your kick track, right-click and select duplicate. Then if you display the inputs and outputs of the channel by clicking on the I.O button in the bottom right corner. On the duplicated kick track in the I.O section you’ve just made appear, at the bottom there will be a drop down which says Master, this basically mean it’s sending the channel’s output to the Master channel. Click on this drop down and it should have a list of all the channels you can route audio to, one of them should be the channel you put Pro-C on, select that one. If Pro-C is the only plug which accepts audio inputs it will select it automatically, but if not the the drop down just bellow the one we are using will let you select the sidechain of Pro-C, if you’re using the stereo version it will say Stereo Side Chain-FabFilte Pro-C (SC). br

Once you’ve done the routing properly the extra kick tracks audio won’t end up on your final master output, it just goes to Pro-C’s sidechain and should trigger the compressor. But it is an epic faff to have to duplicate the tracks and everything.br

Hope this helps.
You don’t have to sidehcain through the compresser, if you get Nicky Romeros Kickstart plugin you can sidechain using that which would save you a lot of hassle. Alternatively you could just use abletons compressor which is simple to sidechain
