How To Sound Like: Oliver Huntemann

Hello!

I’m a newcomer to Sonic Academy. I think the tutorial videos are really useful!

Anyways, can anyone shed some light on german techno like Oliver Huntemann from a production point of view?

Here’s an example:

Trummerfeld - Huntemann’s Remix

I’m interesting in understanding the conception of the first 2:00, especially how to make a similar bass (maybe a compressed kick?) as the one that enters at 1:40.

Thanks!

sounds minimal to my ears. check out the how to make minimal tutorial in the videos section!

the bass line sounds more along the lines of a tom as opposed to an actual bass synth.

try experimenting with some toms, pitched down even to get a real low bass

Sick tune! First time i’ve heard it, do agree with Bryan though, sounds more minimal and the minimal tutorial does cut close to this sound.

On another note, keep your eyes peeled as there will be a Techno tutorial coming very soon

Thanks for the feedback.

I consider this techno btw as do most in Germany. Minimal isn’t as driving as this.

I’ll give it a try with Toms, re watch the minimal tutorial and wait for the techno one (though I assume it will be more of a detroit techno side)
