Welcome to Ableton Live 12 Beginner Level 2

Over the next 15 tutorials, we welcome back Ableton certified trainer Paul Laski aka P-LASK, as he takes you to the next level on this masterclass. If you are a complete beginner or even a seasoned pro, this course has something for everyone.

This course continues on from the previous Ableton Live 12 Beginner Level 1 Course with some more advanced techniques to help you on your production journey.

With loads of useful knowledge for producers starting out, we begin by checking out the groove pool, insert vs send/return FX including reverb and delay, adding transitions, take a closer look frequency removal, compression and sidechain compression before processing synths and stereo widening. P-LASK then checks out some more automation techniques before finishing off with a simple mix and master of the track so it’s ready to play out.

Once completed you’ll be armed with all the necessary tools to go and start creating your own tracks and continue on this awesome journey!

Really great course, good explanations throughout. thank you.

Welcome aboard on the forums & thanks for your comments ! :sunglasses:

This has been made with Ableton Live 12.1b6, which is still a beta version. So it’s unopenable for people who haven’t gone beta testing (which isn’t likely for many beginners).

Maybe there could be two different versions for download, one a current live version and one the ‘improved’ 12.1 version. At least until 12.1 is actually launched.

Loving the course. Just disappointed not to be able to use the materials.

Welcome to the forums @Palaceofvision

Yes, seems the .ALS project was created & saved with Ableton Live 12.1 which is still in Beta at the moment and no yet released.

Bummer but also makes sense if PLASK decided to explain and showcase latest Live 12.1 features

Ableton Live license owners can Register for Live 12 beta Program on Ableton Centercode Website to get the latest 12.1bx version ( The Beta installs separately, not overwriting your current Live 12 Release ).

You also get access to new Ableton Live sequencers and other stuffs

Just click on the “No Account - Create One” link if you’re not yet registered for the Beta Program.

Hope this helps !

I know there is a few more videos, but wow P-LASK!
My track is sounding incredible lol.
Thanks in advance and been a fun ride.
Cheers
