HTSL: Hybrid / FSOL / Nu-Skool Breaks

Would love any assistance with getting that kinda compressed, shuffling percussion right in particular! Not to mention some advice on producing some of those incredible lows…

A classic…

Seconded, thirded, fourthed…

and also +10 on this idea.

I’ve been loving the Electro and Fidget tutorials. But I’d also love some breakbeat ones.

I’m for this too.

Hybrid actually have a really good computer music tutorial and one from future music on video.google.com. Search for Hybrid CM I think

For anyone else looking at it the link is http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-9116333959697757131&ei=HskCS5DrNI2YqAORu9jyDg&q=Hybrid+Computer+Music&view=2#

There are also a few other masterclasses there.

However, I think the videos on here are a lot better then I masterclasses. SA goes a lot more in depth into a tune and I tend to learn a lot more about making music. Perhaps the Master Class series is a little to high level for me.

Thanks for the positive responces! I’m glad i’m not the only breakbeat fan on this site!

Thanks for posting the link there too, i’ll be checking that out as soon as i’ve got a little more time on my hands. Tied up right just now :open_mouth: lol…

I always preferred Hybrid’s remixes of other tracks rather then their own material. Not counting ‘Wide Angle,’ that was a masterpiece all the way through.

Tutorial wise, something along the lines of ‘Snyper,’ ‘If I Survive’ or ‘Theme From Wide Angle’ (my fave on the album)

Off the top of my head; could suggest something like the Hybrid remixes of Moby 'Bodyrock, 'Truman And Wolff ‘Come Again,’ or BT ‘Never Gonna Come Back Down…’

Their remix and additional production by… album is incredible yeah. Part of the reason i suggested these artists is because of the extent and depth of the musical content within their works, the deep atmostpherics and the overall feel they offer the tracks. Sure i would LOVE to know how to make those killer basslines (Bodyrock remix, Kill City [*], et al…) but that kinda of thing could almost be covered in a tech tip. I would love to see a htsl that covered how to recreate the very dynamic, deep and musical feel of their signature work. Perhaps Beachcoma or something would be a good comprimise :stuck_out_tongue:

This would be most excellent as I have always wanted to learn how to produce this style of music.

Would love something like this too.
