I feel like this should be easy, but I’m having a bit o’ trouble… I just discovered this guy, I’m in love.
Simple just sample some old disco and funk records and use creatively
I know but there’s a bit more to it… There’s a lot within the sample selection, but when I’ve been trying, it’s hard to make the little glitches pop and work cohesively with the beat.
I know a quite of people who work with this style of music and from what ive seen they all start from cutting the sounds and arranging them and do the drums after sort off like a call & response thing oh and vowels are the key
I’ve spoken to this guy a bit and it’s all down to his choice of samples. Sampling the right sounds gets him his sound. He searches for ages. Look around for random samples.
He’s french so alot of french house and old french tunes feature. Youtube is your friend
Also try stutter edit if you want some crazy glitches or supertrigga. It’s amazing what you can get when you just glitch up a loop and cut a certain part.
