Sadly this isn’t true. The Maschine Mikro (there is no mini) isn’t any cheaper, but they have the iMaschine, the iPhone app, at half price.

I too have just gotten sausage, and have placed an order for Massive. I’ll check my bank account tomorrow and try to get FXpansion DCAM Synth Squad (mainly for Strobe) tomorrow while it’s only $99 as well (I think it’s usually either 200 or 250 so that’s a steal!)

But yea… does anyone know of other tools they use on Sonic Academy tutorials that are worth picking up? I already have Sylenth1 and I’ll eventually pick myself up a copy of Camel’s Alchemy, but what are the other most commonly used VST’s on Sonic Academy tutorials? (especially tools / vst’s for mastering)

I sincerely think you dont need to have exactly what SA uses . one of the reasons that i got a sampler and a saturation unit is because cubase lack of them . I would suggest to stick to your new toys and if you need something you will know

I only have Ableton/Sylenth and never use the later now

thanks for the reply and I certainly hope so. I think I just need to learn my vst’s, what oscilators, lfo’s, and all the knobs on there are(through the tutorials), and supplement what I don’t have (Camel Audio Alchemy) with what I do have (Sylenth1, Massive, and soon enough: FXStrobe). Alchemy is certainly a nice synth and bass maker but, from what I gather, whatever can be done on alchemy can also be done on the others?

yep , you can do everything in one synth , the only limit is your creativity and knowledge about it . i have been using the synth called Sawer for the past 2 years , for everything from Stabs , Bass , Sub Bass , percussion ETC.

stick to them till you master it . there are so many new and cool synths that have some extra great features but it will be useless for you if you dont know the basics of programming a simple Bass line , leads ETC.

@Slender : the only thing that is great for Ableton is the Quality plug ins and Samplers they have . but hate the sequencing and routing option from it .

I wish i would had started with Ableton but Cubase have some nifty features like the VariAudio , Loopmash and also the new MIDI features that are unique to other DAW.

still Cubase sucks when comes to Samplers and weird Distortion units that are focused more to live Musicians .

Actually my last post may have been misleading - as I do use other plugins just nat any of the ones in the tuts (as far as I remember) - I think Analog and Operater are great -Sulynth is a great learning tool

As for Cubase used that with the Atari (those days you had to wind up the computer to start :stuck_out_tongue: )
