So after 8 years of wanting one i managed to get a Mac. At first it was a case of just getting used to a Mac after soooooo many years of Windows. After a while tho i got into the app store and saw Logic 9. What really got my attention and kinda confused me at first was its price tag, think it was €150 or something. I was like oooh thats probably like the express version, the proper one with all the bits an bobs will probably be like €500 or something.
Of course i was incredibly wrong! For that price you get the full Logic, everything. I mean this in itself was amazing to me because Logic is packed with so much stuff and i also got like 19gb of Samples from Apple too
Now its just been a learning process and checking out all the different features, theres just so damn much. Its been pretty cool even when i dont know something, the Apple support community is great, lots and lots of Youtube and just checking the manual.
I decided to do a little bootleg remix just to get started cos i believe its the best way to learn a new DAW. I must say i love it, producing is getting me excited again, i am actually wanting to just check out all the cool stuff and try new things. This is the first DAW since Ableton 5 that ive actually wanted to sit down with and get decent with. I just wanna reccomend logic 9 to everyone. I know Mac etc is expensive but trust me you wont look back.
You used to work in Ableton?? I have Ableton now and have thought long and hard about getting into Logic but it just seems like it would take me backwards to have to re-learn a whole new DAW…
I remember when Logic was £799, and Cubase was £699.
Expensive back then to even start to try and make music!
It is incredible that you can now pick Logic up so cheaply!
It does make you wonder how much they must be screwing you on the computers though if they can afford to give it away that cheap!
