I need to recreate the famous talk box sample from Living on a Prayer!

Hi there!



I am new to producing and am looking to recreate that wicked talk box sound that Richie Sambora used in Living on a Prayer. I have tried to lift the sample from the track itself, but theres the drums that I cant seem to remove. I also tried to find a sample of it alone. No luck. So I am left with trying to do it myself through a mic and try to mash it up to sound the same. Any tips???

id say the easiest way to achieve this sound would be to get yourself an actual talkbox!

Try the mda talkbox, difficult to get it sound right though:

I made my own talkbox from a compression horn driver and a piece of tubing and it works brilliantly. It only cost me about £30 for all the bits.
