I really want to sound like this

AMAZING.

Anyone else agree?

ME ME ME ME ME!!!

I absolutely agree with this. This is the exact Format:B track that I’m after as well. I have been trying to copy a lot of their tracks lately to get the groove and feel and have been pretty successful at recreating the sounds. Lots of mono legato and portamento. I can tell too that they do quite a bit of widening in the middle as their bass is heavy but not too deep or low. None the less, sign me the F up!!!

Raymond

Wow, i do believe raymondsar that this may be the first time we’ve ever agreed with each other hahaha :D:D:D:D:D

Yeah good call this is excellent

Raymondsar, you said you’ve worked it out already, how about giving us a little bite size of your own? :D:D:D:D:D:D

bass sounds like DeadMau5. Seems like this kind of fat kick and bassline is very popular nowadays. Do you have any Ableton Live project file demonstrating the mastering of such kick & bass relationship. It’s really important…

Link is down… what track is it?

Will we possibly get a tech tutorial?

Hey! I’ve been swamped as heck and just saw this. I have figured out what they do with the bass! It’s layered detuned sines with some glide and portamento. I’m actually trying to copy this exact song right now to get a feel for WTF these guys are doing! I will post up some results soon hopefully.

Raymond

Good God! Maybe just the bass, the further I listen, the more my head feels like its going to explode from all the little parts that are microsequenced in! Try what I said on the bass though and see what you get.

I just came across another interesting tip about this bass too. Try using a really dark 1bar loop, low pass it at about 90Hz, compress the hell outta it, then sidechain compress it to the kick. Seems pretty sweet thus far as another nifty trick.

Enjoy!

Raymond

hey raymond ur posting again cool man !

nice one !

Hi all,

what do you think about HTSL LE CASTLE VANIA, this man have a really fat sound.

Yeah Egg, I’ve had a couple of twist of fates and crazy turns in the past couple of months that have humbled me quite a bit. Haven’t exactly been my usual self lately, but think I’ve come to terms with it all.

Raymond

all is well that ends well, right?

HIghfy,

There’s a fidget tutorial that should be hitting the airwaves here shortly according to Spence! Twocker is the focus, but the same sound innit!

Raymond

Le Castle Vania is a very good idea.

I was hoping to get that sound with the mstrkrft tut but nope.

LCV has a smashing punking remix of bullet with butterfly wings and their remix of GO BACK that I’d love to learn.
