Ibiza

Anyone going this year?

I was supposed to be going in August but now the plans have changed to September, i’m worried as hell because last year i went in Aug and Sept and by Sept, Zoo Project was closed, it’s such an awesome party!!

Anyways we’re going around Sept 11th(ish), anyone else there around that time?

Actually, who’s been before? Since it’s the party season, lets chat about the white isle

I went in 98, 01, 04 and 05 my favourite places were amnesia, mambo and space. Favourite club was cocoon when it used to play harder techno! Next time I go will probably either my best mates or my stag do!

Ive never been there. Is it true that all drugs are legal there?

I was due to go this year, back in May but ended up not going as had to have an operation in hospital… gutted doesn’t come close as you can imagine! hah!

I was going to re-book to go this year BUT, i thought i would just save up this year and make sure that i can at least go twice next year, make up for it.

My best experience was when i went in, in 2008- one of which was Lisa Lashes and Judge Jules at EDEN, Judgement Sundays and then also seeing David Guetta and Steve Angello along side each other at F**K ME IM FAMOUS, Pacha!

One massive disappointment thou was when we went to see HEDKANDI at El Divino… was dead but thats just due to the club itself, shame thou.

Hed Kandi moved from El Divino last year, they went to Space, but this year they’re now at Es Paradise which personally I think is a bad move, it will just be full of chavs now.

Hed Kandi for me has always been glamourous and sexy, chavs only tend to stay in San An and go to Eden or Es Paradise, that’s why the best clubs are in Ibiza Town or San Rafael.

But at the same time… i normally always get in Eden or Es Paradise free so i shouldn’t complain lol!

The only place I haven’t been yet is DC10!! Deprived!!

I do agree that HedKandi is a glamorous label and needs a club that can give that to them and i think the next best place would be Es Paradis. If more people went to Il Divino, then that would have been perfect for them as the club its self is nice, especially outside, next to the dock… cant complain with a view like that!

You will get Chavs no matter where you go but everyone that goes to Ibiza just goes to have a good time, i have never come across any trouble whilst ive been there myself.

I’ve never been.

a bunch of my friends are there as we speak.

jealous of all of you that have been!

1 day 4 sure.

Me and my friend got mugged last year, there are loads of d*ckheads in San Antonio.

If you go Ibiza, try to stay in Ibiza Town, Playa D’en Bossa or if you can’t do those then San Antonio Bay. San Antonio is full of pikeys and thieves.

Although don’t let it put you off, it’s a great place to be, it’s just a warning to keep an eye out and don’t let your guard down. That’s what I did and thats what happened to me.

Always wanted to go… But I think now more than ever, I value my health - certainly more than I have ever done. I know that if I was to go it would be the session to end all sessions.

I also appreciate the Music more than ever, which was often of secondary importance, back when I was a human ricochet. So thats why I’d still like to go… but truthfully, the other side of things would be pretty alien to me now.

BBC3 should start showing Highlights.

I’d press the Red Button.

Where were you, just in San An or the clubs?

San An, a big group of arab looking guys started causing problems with me and my friend. Tried to fight us, then we told them to fck off and walked away, only to then realise our wallets and mobile phones had been pickpocketed from us.

Luckily they didn’t get my wallet or camera, only my phone, but my friend lost everything.

He was a worker there and told me sh
t like that happens all the time, it’s the arab and lucky lucky men and women you want to watch out for.

Pretty wnak that is really man! I mean, its obvious it goes on just i have never come across it. The lucky lucky men are funny lol!

i’m there 11th august for 10 days. 3rd return to the island for me

i’m planning to go for a few days in the first week of October to go amnesia and dc10 closing. Both parties last year were immense

Ibizan authorities have announced that clubs are to have a fallow year in 2011, with blanket closures across all island venues. Following years of supposed conflict between island residents and ravers, and continued rumours of club closures – the revelation comes as a disappointment, but perhaps not a surprise.

The announcement comes as a response to claims that, after over 20 years of continued rave traffic, the island needs a break to rest and regenerate – not only for its residents, wildlife and natural surroundings, but also its clubs.

The idea is not only to give local residents a break from the tourist traffic, but allow club owners the opportunity to redecorate and update venues that have been in constant use, and abuse, for over two decades.

“Ibiza is an iconic tourist destination, and important for global music culture,” said a spokesperson for the Ibizan local government. “We’ve realised that the best way to deal with this culture is not to fight it, but to embrace it. It is as important to Ibiza as it is to the world. As such we will take this year to ensure Ibiza’s clubbing infrastructure – bars, hotels, clubs, drugs – is up to the highest standard.”

If this news comes as a major disappointment though, fear not, you’ll still be able to get to white island next year, as part of the Ibizan authorities’ ‘Rave up, clean up’ campaign.

Party-goers are being invited to come for week’s holidays where they can aid the clean-up operation of the island’s beaches and other natural areas, picking up the cans, used condoms and other rubbish that have proved a danger to local flora and fauna. “After so many years with many thousands of people coming to our island, that is a great many people who have pissed in the sea at Bora Bora,” said one Ibizan resident. “This fish need a break, man! This is a chance for people to give something back.”

Details on the ‘Rave up, clean up’ campaign will be made available over this summer.
