IDM Drums Help Please

i dont ask for much in the forums but i have a question today i know much of you are not into IDM like i recently got into it but ive had ideas for some tracks but i cant re produce drums like there: [url]Boards of Canada - Sixtyniner - YouTube i want to make a drum pattern like that but i cant get it right so im hoping your drum programming pros can help me and if theres any drum patterns you guys might know please share

Hey Man,

I love BOC. I think its mainly just hip-hop style drums all distorted & distressed… slowed down & resampled / rearranged.

On a few of their tracks you can hear the drums being extremely filtered - panning left to right, filtering up & down.

That track there sounds like a hip-hop beat, slowed down. You can hear scratching on other tracks too… so I think they are heavily influenced by those type of beats. I cant really recall any tracks that sounded real IDM-y.

Its just slowed down breaks, rearranged & heavily effected - or at least thats the sound they are looking to achieve. They might do it all by hand - but thats the vibe they are definitely going for.

Try getting some HH breaks & destroying them into something like that.

Thanks i did what you said and worked out fine i even learned how to reproduce some of the loops…I hate posting about IDM here cuz i never get a response so thanks for replying man

if youre after aphex twin style drums you should take a look at artillery2 and live cut vsts!

I seen him playing a DJ set once… playing all that stuff - long before the insane “Drill 'N Bass” stuff that he plays now. I prefer the old stuff.
