I’m partial to the odd bit of hard house/techno and would love to dose my music with a bit of hoover. What’s the best synth for authentic sound and please don’t anybody respond with a henry
My mate swears that J.Edgar is a good one…

Ah, look man… i’ve given up on 3D, seems like I was barking up a tree for no reason. Is J.Edgar like the new Rob Papen or something?

That deserves Post of Week - J>Edgar Hoover was the head of the FBI who started calling anyone anti goverment a communist in the 40’-60s (I think) he was also reported to be a transvestite - but I won’t hold that against him
IF memory serves me right there was a tech tip here on how to crate a hoover sound but there are plenty of tuts on the net - I would think

Ok, i’m not a subscriber so not sure if I can access the tech tip. And of course I know who J.Edgar Hoover is. I’ve been to see his Dam in the states. I was purely going along with ICN’s little game.
For a authentic Hoover you need the hardware and the “what the?” patch. Roland juno1 or 2 synths or the rack version mks50. The closest Software version would have to be sylenth, but it’s not as fat as the hardware. Also checkout the James dyson collection

Finally a man talking sense, until the end Basically I’m looking to do a remix of Joey Beltran’s Mentasm in a dubstep flavour, not quite skrillex but almost if you get my drift. Considering a tempo change in the middle to take it hardstyle with some air raid sirens and fog horns.

Good luck with that! I’ve been trying to recreate that for a while
Dont do it man!
Tbh I think the preset hoovers in Sylenth1 are great. I mean you can tweak them, modulate them and you also have to take into consideration that a hoover is just a sound. Alot of what you hear in pro music has alot to do with the fx and proccessing etc…
