Just finished watching Gigi’s tutorial “How to make banging electro house” and was surprised to see he didnt use any chords at all.br

I understand the arp he hand programmed might be following a pre planned chord progression pattern but I didnt stop to study it so I’m not sure.br

I was kind of half asleep watching it so maybe I missed a video or wasn’t really paying attention close enough. But from what I remember all he has is bass, somewhat of a melody, and the arp. br

Ive always learnt chords are what you base the rest of the track pieces that you compose off of. So without chords(whether I use them in the finished product or not) I’m kind of lost on what to create next, etc…unless I have a finished piece in mind, which isn’t always the case.
I haven’t watched it but consider that an arp is, by definition, a chord.br
