The mrs has banned me from the studio this weekend.
Gutted or what! I’ve got to spend more time with my family and not shut myself away I’ve been told
Not enough hours in a day, not enough days in a week etc
my girlfreind has been getting on me lately also. I basically come home for work kiss her on the cheek and go upstairs to the studio till dinner, then go back and dont come down till bedtime. I just tell her im doing it for us, and that one day this is going to pay the bills :). that never works though. she used to be married to a guy in a indie rock band, who would give her the same line about his music. You can see how that worked out.
tommy, you shouldn’t bank on “making it” in the music biz. Its something to shoot for, but you should never bank on that.
my studio is in the front room so dont have that problem instead i have the missus and kids moaning they want to want emmerdale or eastenders so can i turn it off i’d love to have a room for my studio to get banned from lol…
haha wow, this is great to see that I’m not the only one who gets grief from the missus for reclusing in the studio.
I literally get it nearly every day.
my comment on earning a living from my music was a joke, i only say that to my girlfriend because her ex used to say that, its the typical line you probably hear from people in music, ive been a dj for 9 years and havent made any money off it , i got 15,00 dollars of records sitting in my studio, i never think that its inevitably going to happen, im not that arrogant or stupid, i know how this thing called dance music works
sorry…took it as face value.

Hehe I know that feeling.
It gets worse as you get older too
Someone once described life beeing like a 12" record.
Its rotates at a fixed speed (years) At the start it seems to takes ages to complete a cycle but as the record continues the time it takes forever decreases.
When you get near the end those cycles sure pass very quickly lol
I remember when my school six week holiday felt like a lifetime but now six weeks passes in a blink.
Hush guys, the way you’re all talking it’s as if you’re ready for your pension next week. lool
Actually, my biggest problem is to share my time between my studio, my sport, my family and my friends…
I simply don’t have enough time in a day to work as i should on my upcoming liveact… and sometimes, it’s really… REALLY boring because i have the feeling i will never complete it…
The biggest problem is the friends… i keep saying i have no time to work on my music and they keep asking me to visit them… and if i say “no, i have work to do”, it always comes to the “ohhhh come ooon… you don’t need to stay looong…” … bull**** ! When i go with them, i’m always back way too late to do something concrete in my studio… so, i go to bed and next day, the same scenario again…
I know they love me and that’s why they keep inviting me… but sometimes, i wish they could understand that I have my own important things to do… anyway, i like them too and that’s why i always go when they ask but hell… i just want to finish this liveact and start playing it… i’m fed up to say “i’m working on a new liveact”. I want to say “my liveact is over and i’m booked for the next 2 weeks. Would you come to the party and listen to me ?”
