Kavinsky Wayfarer

But there isn’t anything in the HTSL that explains the notes and that is what I am having the hardest time figuring out. I imagine he has a bunch of appreciators going, but how? I want to get that 80’s tune goin in my tracks, but I don’t know how to create the driving arps.

Can anyone help?!?!

you can probably use an arp, or just go up and down an octave in the scale really, this isnt really close since the bass probably needs to be abit more punchier and needs more automation but thats how i tried to do it

I guess iam just trying to figure out how he uses the arp to make his music. Maybe I should get off the forum and just keep messin’ around

haha definitely one of the best ways to learn

blahhhsadkfhsaidfhaiuf I have been trying for like a week now and after spending all of tonight I am officially going crazy. IF anyone could be kind enough to lend a hand it would be much appreciated <3

Like I said before, I know how to get the synth sound, I am just trying to get my arp to sound similar.

Thanks!

To me it sound like he might be using 2 or 3 arps on 3 different octaves and perhaps 2 different synths? One that is the low driving saw and then one on top that has the higher end slapbass-like hits?

not sure though… Still working on it

any ideas guys?

have a look at the tech tip 39 - capturing arp data

if you get the rhythm right, sounds like 16th notes - then just adjust the notes to get the right notes you are looking for!

Yeah, I have been using the chord/scale tips as well and have been able to make something similar. I will deff. check out that tut as well. Thanks for the heads up!
