Does anyone know how to add custom hotkeys in live ? I’m typically in Sonar and i find it really frustrating to not be able to “mute” AKA deactivate clips or “add locators” with a single key stroke. Even if there is some way to do (and i just can’t find-- which is possible, of course ) it i would like to keep the same key map as other programs im used too … EG: “ctr y” for undo ?! REALLY ?!
also if there is no way to do custom keys is there a quick reference card or pdf that i’m could keep handy?
can anyone out there help me out >?

Hey buddy, top right of Live you’ll see two ‘buttons’ one saying ‘Key’ and one saying ‘Midi’.
Just select ‘Key’ and then click the option you want to edit in your screen, then click a key on your keyboard, you’ll see on the top left that a menu of all your assigned keys starts to appear. Just click ‘Key’ top right again to get back into your main page and you should just be able to press that key and the option will work for you.
The ‘Midi’ option works similarly. Hope this helps, i’ve kinda read your message in a daze because ive just woken up so hope i didn’t miss anything lol.
ROBEN,
First off thanx for the response! I tried the method you detailed and it worked nifty for widgets that are on the screen. Here is my question is there a way to do it to options that are hidden in pull-down and context menus ?
EG: deactivate clips, save as, create locator …
If i’m being stupid sorry, i’m pretty new to live ( about day 10 ) so things are making sense for the most part but others are still pretty confusing.
Thanx again for responding you are awesome to take time to help me out.
