its been said loads of times and i have no idea what it means… its been said that some elements in my tracks are out of key and i have no idea wat that means for example in this track>
4 O Clock In the Morning (Dean Kenny Remix) (Getting Warmer) by DeanKenny
Key = pitch = frequency
If a song is in the key of C Major it’s better to stick to the notes in that scale. In that case, all the white notes on a keyboard.
Dean, mate, this could get really complicated. You’re better off Googling it and then tracking down some good but not too complicated books on music theory.
Idiots or Dummies guides are a good place to start. Not being facetious. I have the Idiot’s Guide to Music Composition for example.
ok thanks i will do that, and how would i fix my vocals in that track do u think?
This is a great book on music theory:
I would think it would be easier to change your track to match the key on the vocals rather than the other way round.
Also check out the A Beginner’s Guide To Music Theory - Scales on this site.
Music Theory for Computer Musicians - is probably the best book out there on the subject would recommend to everyone
Dean, there is a basic theory tut series here on SA, check it out mate
