Kick 2 bug

I have been using kick 2 for sometime now just fine, but sometime recently it started showing weird behavior when I stop my track in ableton live 12. I will adjust the paramter for the length of the pitch envelope to my desired number, but when I stop the track it jumps to the minimum of 50ms. I have noticed this happens for all midi tracks that have kick 2 loaded not just the playing track. I thought it was triggering the automation lane, so I turned that off and it still happens. I tried making sure the kick 2 track was deselected and closed the vst window and it still happens. I looked back through other tracks I made and every single track with kick 2 has changed that parameter to 50ms upon opening the project. If not ure what’s going on but this makes kick 2 unusable and has messed up a lot of work I put in to other tracks. Any idea what’s happening?

Would you have accident assigned your space at to a control?

If you stop using the stop buttons on the Live UI does this still happen?

I did not assign space bar to a control and it happens whether I use space bar or the stop button in UI.

Does it also happen in a fresh project?

yes

Like Phil mentioned, it is more than likely that the Length slider is MIDI CC assigned to your computer keyboard space-bar, even if that wasn’t set on purpose, it’s easy to inadvertently right click a parameter and trigger some MIDI CC assignment.

Solution 1 → Right Click the Length Slider and then Click Remove CC:Value

Solution 2 ( this will remove any MIDI CC assignment altogether ) : Delete your Kick 2.settings file.

On a Mac :

From the Finder Menu, select the GO → Go To Folder…
Copy/Paste this path : ~/Library/Application Support/Sonic Academy/Kick 2/

Delete your Kick 2.settings file

On a PC :

Navigate to C:/Users/ Your-Username /AppData/Roaming/Sonic Academy

Delete your Kick 2.settings file

( the AppData + sub-folders might be hidden by default on Windows, you’ll need to Reveal Hidden Files & Folders )

Cool thanks this fixed it. I thought that it wasn’t set as a midi cc because whether I pressed spacebar or stopped with the mouse it happened.
