just a question about this tech tip, im fairly new to production so im just trying to get my head around the real technical stuff. this is probably a stupid question to most of use but im baffeld, is the point of this to enable me to make my own kicks and then to save or export the kick as a sample??
the point is to give you different sounding kicks. personally, I just use samples.
but how can i save them as a sample to use?

Make a Midi - of say, 4 kicks and then just bounce / export them as audio.
Should have options in the file menu in live - whatever the one is that has all the open / save as stuff in it.
If I was bouncing Kicks - I always do it like that & take the 3rd one out as my sample… Just incase the 1st Kick was Gammy or kinda lower etc…
Just watch you dont have stuff clipping or have any mad compression on it if you dont want that.
Bring it back in & chop it up… then arrange.
you can just draw in the kicks and then resample it or you can just freeze the track to save as audio.
thanks for the feed back guys, but im still not getting it, ive tried wat icn said but i wasnt getting any sound outa the midi, sorry for being a nusince but could you explain in a bit more detail excatly wat ive got to do… cheers

It might be best if you just watch the actual videos over again and do the same thing as the tutors are doing at the same time.
i never understood what u ment by resampling but just seen it in a tutorial there. thanks anyway, appreaciate it m8.
Try just adding an Audio channel.
In Audio from select the kicks then Activate the Audio channel by clicking the activate button at the bottom,(this will go red) click on the record button while the kicks are playing and it will record the kicks into an audio channel.
This will give you the audio of any kicks. Then just pick the ones you want. Don’t add any effects or compression, just leave them dry, as if you get it wrong you can’t undo it during the process of turning it to audio.
Then add effects/compression when you have the kick in the track you want to use it on.
That’s about the most simple way of doing it.
