Kick spiking on first beat, why?

I’m using a sampled kick and for some reason it is spiking pretty loud on the first beat, i’ve tried putting the sample through ESX24 and the same problem is happening. I noticed the issue when i dropped out some of the hits at the end of a bar, when the kick comes back in its really loud for 1 beat. I can’t work out why, if there are not breaks in the kick playing there are not issues, any ideas?

What you are hearing is the limiter - if you reduce the volume of your SUB and Click you will find a level eventually where this initial click will not happen.
