There is a lot of talk about layering sounds, Synths etc.
What kind of sounds do u wanna layer it with? something similar or something diffrent. and how do i get them to sound good together?!.
In which tutorial can i see an example?
and what is typical for layering sound?
Do u need one on high freq and one on mid freq or 2 on high Freq?:w00t:

It really depends on what sound you are trying to acheive.
If its an epic lead… You might layer to thicken up the sound to give it more body… Or if its sounding dull you might layer with somthing fizzy to give it more air.
Its totally context sensitive.
Only layer if you think it needs one thing or another to push the sound in the direction you want.
How do you know what you want? Find a track you like and copy it.
Dont really have a specific sound im looking for atm, but everytime i make something it feels like there is something missing but i can never put a finger on it.
But this sound is pretty massiv,

Its starts at 3:32
And the soundtail at 3:31+ how do u make that?
I always have an idea of what I’m trying to achieve when I go in to the studio.
Good sessions for me always start off with 20mins if listening to stuff and picking out a few ideas.
Otherwise I end up going in circles and doubting everything.
Ah, Thats a good idea! I always wanna make a massiv track Similar to Greyhound or something like that. Massiv synths and massiv SOUND OVERALL, but im a beginner so im trying to make something easier to start with!.
The most success I’ve had lately has been by increasing my “critical listening”. Basically I just tried to cope a Dennis Ferrer track. It’s funny how doing that gives you a good context of how a track should be built up.
Although as said above, the part I struggle with most is picking sounds that Gel well together, I think that’s a matter of experience as much as anything though.
