One thing that Really gets to me is buying digital downloads from labels that can’t be bothered to well “label” lol
some tracks i’ve downloaded recently (paid for) when loaded into traktor or anything else have no cover art, the name of the track and the producers names are in the wrong sections, the genre is listed as jazz or something, it has no key or bpm tags. it doesn’t take a lot to do this and most of the programs can be found for free or at least very cheap.
the thing that bothers me is, if one record company can do it then so can the rest of them. They wouldn’t get away with selling vinyl in a shop that wasn’t labeled correctly or had a wrong cover on it.
i think we should start to name and shame digital labels for doing bad jobs!! WHY SHOULD WE PAY THE SAME PRICE FOR A MP3 OR WAV IF WE HAVE TO DO THE LABELS JOB FOR THEM.
To be honest it’s never really bothered me, I’ve always just filled in the details that I need anyways.
Its the same crap as labels not promoting their artists. You find that alot with smaller labels.
thats why i loved Vinyl !!! because it had always a nice covers.
i dont get bothered if it says the key or tempo , as long as it have the right artist track .and cool album cover ![]()
not so bothered about key and tempo but some just don’t have the relevant info at all.
gone have the days of me mixing on cdj’s so i’ve decided to import my collection into traktor and out of over 2000 tracks only about 50% have the relevant info on them.
would be nice for some just to put the mix/re-mixer artist name and track name clearly.
i have noticed that the tracks downloaded from beatport seem to be the better ones.
some of my trance tracks from audio jelly have everything in the right place
but the tracks from trackitdown are very much hit or miss lol
i used to remember a lot of my tracks by the record cover. now since i use serato i couldnt tell you a lot of the songs i have because theres not that piece of artwork that ties that song into my head
