Hi all, I have noticed sometimes my Live 8 plays bits out of somewere, as if they were in the arrangement. I ctr+a and delete everything that is in the arrangment. Play it back but it keeps playing them when the cursors goes over that precise spot. Any ideas?
Ghost track?
Sorry Mate, had to say it before someone else did! Sorry.
You dont have a long clip with a loop point somewhere in it or something? Only thing I can think of. Not as up on live.
Sometimes Logic (My DAW) can corrupt a file. You delete a track & it still plays. Annoying as fck. Only thing to do then is to import each one of the channels into a new project… and start afresh.
Can you do something like that with Live? Select certain tracks from another project & import them?
Or can you open 2 projects at the same time & copy & paste them into a new project?
UahUah (ghostly laugh)
I have even tried to cancel everything from the arrangement, but it is still there.
I think you can save a track and re-open it in a new project, never tried it though.
Usually I just move everything beyond the point and keep working. Maybe it’s time to start saving money for a new laptop:(
try refreshing your live. check out the website and make sure its up to date.
It’s always to go refresh your live every once in a while.

Haha!
Dunno if a new Lappy would fix it Mate - not if its an error type thing within the program. Bit of an expensive fix.
Does it happen in all projects?

weird - update the software would be my guess
It happens on most projects, sometimes just a couple of second, up to 5 or 6 bars. I’ve noticed it happens more when I resample. Do you think it is useful at all to write Ableton about it. Just as a sort of error report.
By the way, I’m using a legit copy of Live 8 and I already got the update.
Cheers
Drop them an Email Mate - they’re really cool @ Ableton
Thanks all for the tips. I’ll try all the compressing and EQ mentioned. Still I believe I tend t overanalyse the tracks . I would be nice to be able to step back for a second and listen to your tracks as somebody who doesn’t produce them would
