Hey, I’m looking to find some new sound effects for free. More specifically, robot sound effects. Or even more specifically, the sound of a machine breaking down and coming back to life. Or just any sound effects in general would work too. Thanks in advance. 
Try Free Sounds. They may have what you are looking for. I get a lot of cool sounds off that site. But it was just down for some maintenance a little while ago. They should be back up soon.
You can pretty take any noise and add lotsa reverbs and delay and you can get some cool sounds to mess around with for fx. Literally experiment with any sound you can get hold of and see what stuff you can come up with. The best fx are ones that you build up from scratch. Why? Cos they will ne uniqie and not one that has been used a lot or comes straight off the Vengeance FX cd.
