I was just checking this forum and saw the sticky at the top is from march 2010 , I think were getting closer to March 2011 and mabey SA should sort this and do a fresh one… Also SA think about potential new subscribers that check the forum and see a sticky fom march 2010 there gonna get the impression that the site is dead lol even though it clearly isn’t.
Yeah i think we prob should… the Next HTSL is defo Deep House… have the track built… its going to be a great tutorial… totaly loving deep house and theres loads of interesting stuff that hasnt been covered properly before.
Then i think im going to do the first advanced tutorial on Minimal techno/tech house.
I think weve got all the main genres covered in terms of building basic beats and basslines and getting a half decent track going. What id like to do for an advanced series is skip all the stuff that these cover and work on spending more time on making thigs interesting, like transitions and breakdowns… automating synths and Fx and more on synth programing EQing and Processing etc.
I would prob start with a half built track with all the basics… drums, bass, lead and go from there.
Wada think? good idea?

What a good idea
Bit of a coincindence as well with the whole HTSL Thread.
If we only had of known Mate, we wouldnt have had to go to all this trouble! :hehe:

True I think we should ask for a discount
They’re being sent out in the next couple of weeks
LOL
There are a lot of what i would do in a standard minimal/techno tutorial in a lot of other stuff and theres loads of scope to get down and dirty with all the crazy noise and extreme production stuff thats going on with that stuff at the mo.
and tbh going through the drum rack/impulse/basline thing is boring the **** outa me and must be boring to most of you so think its time to ramp it up a bit… theres enough begginers there for most people to get them started.
Sounds Great!
Down and dirty sounds good to me
Phil your right the basics for people who are new or just interested in production are more than covered, so more advanced tutorals in all genres will not only be a bonus too the more experinced but would also encourage members too resubscribe - so its a win win stuation
Still ts not going to stop me posting in the HTSL thread

I agree with this, for example i own logic and ableton live so if the project is available to download in these formats i’m happy but for those peeps with Cubase that want to recreate what you have done the midi files for the obvious parts synth, bassline, pads, any chords makes life much easier…
Cheers guys!
and looking forward to the new tutorials you mentioned…:w00t:
I think more advanced stuff is definately the way to go! Think about it SA at it’s core is meant to be a school, so to follow their general operation at the end of the year everyone moves up and things get harder!
Just wondering phil, is there going to be a trance tut coming up anytime soon?
and great idea with the advanced tuts… maybe a few more “get that sound” tuts ?which are amazing !
