Mac OSX Interface query

Alright guys, i’m hoping someone can help me with a niggling little problem i’ve been having for a while now.

I have a 27" iMac with dual monitors, what i want to do is to be able to have multiple windows open at the same time. What i mean by that, for example, is when i have a window open which is running a tutorial video and i also have my Kontakt GUI within Ableton open to work on, when i pause or play the video, it will close down the Kontakt GUI so that i have to click on the spanner in my Ableton Audio effect rack to re-open it. Not a massive issue but it’s really starting to get on my tits and is taking up precious time when i’m having to do it constantly.

Is there something i can change in my settings so that i can click on different windows without reducing other programs to the dock automatically?

The only thing related in ableton is the multiple plugin window option in ableton prefs… but i dont think it solves your problem…

The way ableton handles plugins as contained in the program means when you click away they will disappear.

Cubase seems to be the same.

Yep that seems to be the case. Not a massive problem, just a bit annoying
