Making interesting pads with ableton analogue

I’m working on a track and I want to make some interesting pads, nothing to over the top.

Id like to use ableton analogue, how would you go about this?

Cheers

i would go with operator for pad sounds to start. for me its interface is much easier to navigate.

if i want to make pad sounds you typically want to have long attack times.

i usually use fm synthesis on this to come up with interesting textures.

i suggest finding a pad preset you like , take notes on what the settings are and either try to recreate it our use to get you started in the right direction.

i would also use reverb on the chain

I am with tommy on this one I am getting to really like operator and you can esily set it up as a subtractive synth

if you want to make interesting pads, i would group two or three synths in the instrument rack and send parameters from each synth to the macro knob, set everything up so that the macros move the synth filters at different points.

cut a long write up down, basically you want to do anything that will help create morphing sounds

Thanks for the tips

I’ve avoided operator as I was learning analogue as my first synth before taking the plunge with operator.

Time to try it I guess!

If you set the routing so that all 4 osc go across, you basically have a standard subtractor synth with 4 oscillators. Way more going there.

Just made an instrument rack for a subtractive operstor. The first four macros are linked to the first 3 osc and 5 and 6 linked to the filter - Left the last 2 free for whatever you want

I would add a reverb at the end with an EQ3
