Mash up advice

HI GUYS .I’M REALLY INTERESTED IN DOING A MASH UP AS I HAVE SOME IDEAS BUT JUST WANDERING HOW TO APPROACH IT, DOES ANY KNOW HOW TO DO THESE? ,IS IT JUST A CASE OF CUTTING UP 2 TACKS SAY IN SOUND FORGE AND MIXING THEM UP IN A DAW AND ADDING YOUR OWN BITS TOO AND ALSO IF POSSIBLE AQUIRING MIDI FILES? OR IS THERE A SPECIFIC WAY OF DOING IT …BIT CONFUSED…ANY HELP/TIPS/ADVICE GREATLY APPRICIATED AS ALWAYS

Just google accapellas ther seems to plenty there



Also why not try midi files - when i do bootlegs (well i have only done one) midi files seemed the way to go as you can be more creative

meh most of the easily available stuff is pretty weak imo. Good for a practise though. Will check out the MIDI stuff though cheers

Fair enough - as you probably can guess acappellas are not really my thing :wink:

Well… weak or illegal or used to death. Take your pick really lol. Think I will just go down the road of convincing local bands with a decent vocalist to let me remix their stuff.

Try sampling the drums too - can’t beat it
